Edible Glitter Is About To Make All Food FABULOUS

Eat glitter and shine all day.

Everything is better with glitter.

And when you unite glitter and food, you get the most powerful, sparkling duo the world has seen since the Obamas.

1. Champagne Jello Shots

The only thing that could improve a shot is Jello, and the only thing that can make a Jello even shot better is glitter. This classy version of the popular college classic of yesteryear swaps vodka for champagne to make you feel a bit more like a civilized grown up. The addition of edible glitter brings the effervescence to life before you even pop a cube into your mouth.

2. Glitter Donuts

Considering the donut trend has taken over the nation, you've probably seen every wild flavor combination ranging from poi to bacon maple bar. Well, let us tell you that those rings have nothing on these glittery, yeasty confections . And because the edible glitter sticks to the glaze like glue, you don't have to worry about turning into a sparkly mess.

3. Glitter Lollipops

While the base of these pops is simply corn syrup and sugar, we can't promise these suckers will taste as good as a Blowpop, but who cares? The addition of edible glitter almost makes them too pretty to eat anyway.

4. Golden Girl Cocktail

Drinking glitter seems like something Marie Antoinette would do while taking a milk bath and bingeing on a plate of petit-fours. The drink itself is simply prosecco and grapefruit juice, but the addition of glitter makes it the ultimate golden girl sipper—and just think what that rimmed coupe glass will do to your pout. Edible glitter lips just may be the next beauty trend.

5. Oreo Olallieberry Layer Cake with Glitter Frosting

We didn't think chocolate (or dessert for that matter) could get any better until we discovered this Oreo olallieberry chocolate layer cake dripping with decadence . Fluffy layers of black chocolate cake are alternated with a cocoa-olallieberry Italian meringue buttercream studded with Oreo cookie chunks and olallieberries. The piece de resistance is a rich dark chocolate ganache mixed with muted gold glitter, making it one of the most elegant cakes we've ever seen.

6. Gilded Macarons

This French favorite is elegant as-is but toss a batch of macarons in gold dust or roll them in edible glitter and you've got an art project, not dessert. While you can make your own before experimenting with sparkle, there's no harm in picking up a box of store-bought macarons to decorate before an impromptu dinner party.

7. Glamour Popcorn

Forget butter or cheese sprinkles. The ultimate popcorn topper is edible glitter, which means movie night will never be the same. While we'd put our paws into a bowl of these sparkly kernels year-round, there's no denying this snack would be perfect for an Oscar viewing party.

Party popcorn, if you will.

8. Disco Truffles

While gilded chocolates aren't exactly a new concept, these truffles are a reminder that you don't have to settle for a simple swirl or candy button topper. If you don't feel like dedicating an afternoon to making your own confections, simply sprinkle a little disco dust on a box of store-bought truffles—we won't tell, promise.

9. Pink Champagne Pops

There are cake pops and then there are these bite-size balls of wonder. The recipe calls for a pink champagne cake, a retro American celebratory dessert that was popular in the '50s. The champagne-infused layer cake is alternated between layers of sweet coconut marshmallow filling and is encased in a sugary fondant-style frosting. The crowning feature? Edible glitter, of course.

If you're really feeling crafty, you can make your own edible glitter in any color you wish.

While there are several different recipes out there, they all contain either a gelatin or sugar base. So, make a big batch and sprinkle away. Just think how amazing your omelet will look come Sunday morning.
