Bible Translated Using Emojis, Cool Youth Pastors Everywhere Rejoice

And God said "Let there be 💡."

Coming soon to a 💒 near you. Raise your 🙌 to the 🌌 and sing praises to the 👑 of 👑's. The most translated text in history is now the first to receive an emoji makeover.

The Emoji Bible is the 3,300 page offspring of the @BibleEmoji twitter account, which has been putting shorthand scripture out into the twitterverse since January of this year.

According to the anonymous author who has identified themselves only as "😎," the translation uses 80 different emoji interchangeably for some 200 words.

Besides featuring emoji, the translation (which is of the King James Version of the Bible. Sorry Catholics.) employs many common text abbreviations and slang, and it's actually kind of cute.

No word yet whether Jesus' and his disciples are referred to as "Bae and da squad," but I sure hope so. Either way, @hashtagdion seems excited.

You can download the full text, er....full translation from iTunes for only 3$.

At a price like that, this could be the start of a new wave of Emoji Evangelicalism, and I'm sure hip youth pastors everywhere are elated.

After all, why tell kids that abstinence is only way to remain pure in the eyes of the Lord when a simple "No 👉👌b4 💍" will do.

So what do you think? Adorable oversimplification of the Good Book? Or new-age stroke of genius for spreading The Word? The masses are already taking twitter to defend both sides.
