18 Pets That Prove It Should Really Be Called The Kentucky Derpy Instead

The very best part of the Kentucky Derby, is dressing for the race. These pets took event attire very seriously, expressing themselves through bold accessorizies and headwear. Please join us in adoring these pets with personalities almost as big as their hats.

Misty got a little sassy when the  bartender cut her off.

Molly was a littler nervous to attend the derby. She didn't want everyone to notice that she made her whole outfit from scratch.

Stephanie was very enthusiastic about the derby and wore her favorite bold hat to compliment her golden color.

Frankie attended the event incognito. He owes some dough to a couple of fat cats, but he's gonna pay it all back after the races are over.

You know those sassy Julep Twins—they've always got to make an entrance. The twins rode into the tracks, luscious lime green caps and all, on their own matching stallions.

Conservative Ms. Doris Day kept her look simple and to the point. She wasn't looking to make any statements, but values the tradition.

Senior was still a little messed up from Cinco de Mayo. He wandered around asking people to take his photo using the Snapchat Taco filter. 

Capi has a gambling and drinking problem, but he knows how to have a good time. He started a drinking game, making everyone take a shot for each time the announcer said "homestretch."

Bart is Capi's right hand man. Together hooped and hollered at the ladies all day. Once they were out of money and booze, they carried each other, shoulder-on-shoulder, while singing "For Nyquist's a jolly good fellow," hiccuping all the while.

A little nervous and unsure, little Babe headed in to Derby weekend a bit self conscious because black really isn't her color. You pulled it off great, Babe!

Lady's allergies have been acting up lately, so her snarl has been especially aggressive. She was hoping to get a beautiful distracting hat, so people would notice her mucus-y grunt less, and focus on her more feminine qualities.

After trying on many options, the sales lady talked her into this nice Monster High inspired look. It was just what she was looking for. 

She may look sweet, but don't test her. She carries a pistol in her girdle for when the crowds get rowdy. 

Doc came for one thing and one thing only: his passion for horses. Having spent his whole life raising horses on a farm in Idaho, he looks forward to the event all year.

Just came for the booze. 

Ruby is only came to the races because her parents made her. She spent most of her time in the lounge with boys much older than her and tried her first cigar.

With pink feathers in her hair and a dress cut down to there, she did the merengue and the cha-cha when Nyquist passed the finish line.
