1. Burping in India is a sign of respect to the cook 

In India, burping at the table is a sign that you enjoyed your meal. Also, while eating in India, you shouldn't use your left hand near any food. It's considered taboo. 

2. You shouldn't take home leftovers in Italy 

Asking for a bag to take home leftovers is considered rude and gluttonous to Italians. 

3. Splitting the check in France is frowned upon

In France, if you invited someone out, you're expected to pay. Splitting the bill is considered rude. 

4. Enjoying tea in the U.K. is very complicated 

Tea must be brewed for three to four minutes and be served with cold milk on the side. The tea bag must be taken out of the cup. The spoon must never touch the sides of the mug while stirring and should be placed on the saucer behind the cup. 

5. You shouldn't cut up all the food on your plate in Spain

You should cut up each piece of food as you're ready to eat it. Anything else is considered incredibly rude. 

6. In Korea, you should only drink water after the meal 

Many cafeterias in Korea have water dispensers at the tray drop-off area so that people can enjoy a drink of water after the meal. Western-style restaurants in the area are changing this practice. 

7. Eating edamame in Japan is a complicated process

It's considered rude to put an entire piece of edamame in your mouth in Japan. You should instead, break open the pod and eat each bean individually with chopsticks.
