Fortunately, Kevin “Turkey” Merck, of Turkey Merck Pottery, has already taken care of the risky legwork with his new zombie coffee mugs.

So you can enjoy your morning cup of brains in peace.

Which, as most know, can be a messy and sometimes complicated task.

Merck’s eerily detailed mugs are hand-made from clay and epoxy resin, so you don't have to worry about any unsavory aftertastes.

Merck, who's been studying and practicing pottery for 15 years, has learned from the best. “My best friend’s dad, Wayne Hewell, is a 5th generation Master Potter and I began studying under him starting in 2001,” he told The Examiner.

His macabre creations are the byproduct of impeccable technique and careful attention to detail.

“When I say studying, I mean that I went and hung out in his old shop and he taught me how to turn and work with clay, nothing formal. The area where I grew up is covered up in very skilled craftsmen that work with clay and I was fortunate enough to learn from multiple potters, each one offering help in specific areas such as glazing and firing."

So you know you know you're getting the most brain for your buck.

Look at that grit. He is so ready to take on Monday.

Sadly, as a high school teacher, Merck only has his evenings and Saturdays available to make his awesomely gory mugs.

So while we can't in good conscience encourage him to quit his day job, we can enjoy the fruits of his labor every morning.
