Felines welcome.

Mustafa Efe, imam of the Aziz Mahmud Hüdayi Mosque in Istanbul, Turkey welcomes all people from all walks of life to his mosque. Oh, and cats. He also welcomes cats.
Since opening the mosque's doors this winter to stray cats, attendees have enjoyed the company of several wide-eyed, gregarious little felines.
And when they're there, Mustafa makes sure they feel right at home.
Seriously, they practically live there.

Winters in Istanbul can reach temperatures in the low 20s, sometimes teens. And with Istanbul's stray animal epidemic, thousands of cats and dogs die from the elements each year. So Efe's generosity is surely appreciated by his feline refugees.

One cat even decided to bring its kittens in from the cold and make their home in Mustafa's pulpit.

“The kitty has found the heart of compassion and mercy,” Efe writes on Facebook.

Now, the mosque is home to over a dozen cats, all of which have found their own personal napping spot.

Naps on naps on naps.

And members absolutely love them.

Turns out compassion doesn't just end with humans - which isn't a revelation for Efe. He's been preaching it for years. And now he's putting it into practice.
Check out the video on the imam's kindness.
