This Guy Kept A Secret for Months To Pull Off A Sneaky Marriage Proposal

Keeping secrets from your pregnant girlfriend isn't normally a good thing, but this man proved there are exceptions.

Meet Ray Smith, an honest English bloke who enjoys a good practical joke...

Most recently, the 38 year old took a series of pictures of him and his pregnant girlfriend, Claire Bramley, in which he secretly proposed to her without her knowing.

The unsuspecting Bramley assumed her boyfriend had simply been documenting her pregnancy the entire. “I had no clue, I was totally oblivious to it all," she said. "He told me he was taking the pictures to create memories for the baby so I just let him get on with it.”

At one point, Smith was even able to sneak in a clever proposal note during one of their ultrasound visits.

"I told her I was taking the pictures to track the progress of the baby, which was a little bit of a ruse," he explained. "Sometimes she wanted to see the pictures so I had to take more than one – one with the card and one without."

Really, anywhere the couple went, Smith was trollin'.

Then, on Christmas Day, he decided to finally pop the question to his unknowing pregnant bride-to-be.

"It was all a bit chaotic on Christmas Day morning so I took her away and set it all up on the laptop. I got down on one knee and gave her a bit of spiel, and then popped the question," Smith told Metro.

Five months and 148 pictures later, Smith had pulled off one seriously impressive "ruse."

"I was totally surprised, but in hindsight it’s exactly the kind of thing he does. He likes to do romantic things. I said yes straight away, I didn’t need to think about it," Bramley said. "I got a bit emotional, but I am pregnant after all."
