You don't have to be a fan of dressing up dogs to admire what this woman is doing for the sighthounds in her area.

Each winter, Sunderland, UK resident and expert craftswoman Jan Brown comes across an almost completely new group of stray sighthounds in her neighborhood...

"Sighthounds" is a category of several dog breeds that includes greyhounds, whippets, and lurchers.

And each year, she spends thousands of hours making adorable hand-knit sweaters, hats, and neck-warmers for them.

But she doesn't simply stop at making them warm and well-fitted. Oh no, she goes all out in making them as adorable as possible.

And as you can imagine, the dogs are endlessly grateful, often times refusing to leave Brown's yard after she's fitted them.

Of course, as a true dog lover, she's taken in several as her own, and takes care of the rest of the strays she comes across to the best of her ability. And if she's unable to take care of them, she admits them to a local shelter that she trusts.

What began in 2009 as an altruistic act of kindness, has now developed into a full-blown business.

After word got out, she began receiving several requests for her hand-knit canine sweaters. Soon, several turned into dozens, and dozens into hundreds.

Now, Brown dedicates herself exclusively to knitting sweaters for dogs - of all shapes and sizes. A percentage of her earnings also goes to local greyhound rescue shelters. Be sure to check out her website to learn more!
