These Award-Winning iPhone Photos Will Totally Take Your Breath Away

The iPhone Photography Awards celebrated it's 9th group of winners in 2015 with some stunning photography. The rules are simple, all photos must be taken with an iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch and cannot be edited by desktop programs. 

There are 19 categories ranging from lifestyle and landscape, to travel and trees and the photos are judged by a panel on their artistic merit, originality, subject, and style.

1. Michal Koralewski, Photographer of the Year

Michal came across this musician in a square in Warsaw and explained,"His face was the first thing I noticed, so expressive and beautiful in it’s own way. It was like an open book. You could almost read his life story from the wrinkles." 

2. David Craik, 2nd Place - Photographer of the Year

David noticed this pair snatching crumbs from a cafe in the UK and was inspired by the emptiness of the white wall behind them. 

3. Yvonne Lu, 3rd Place - Photographer of the Year

Yvonne noticed this napping couple on her trip back home to New York City and loved the vintage feel of the surroundings and how, she described, "The couple looks like they don’t need anything else in the world."

4. Ben Schuyler, "Abstract" Category Winner

Ben took this photograph as part of his series "Come All Ye Saints." 

5. Renai Roberts, "Animals" Category 3rd Place Winner

Renai is a self-taught photographer from Syndey, Australia. 

6. Christian Frank, "Architecture" Category Winner

Christian studied Interior and Product Design in Germany and captured this image at the central library of his hometown's central library in Stuttgart. 

7. Jeremy Kern, "Children" Category Winner

Jeremy travels to Haiti each year through Project MediShare and captured these children waiting to be seen by the doctors there. 

8. Amy-Leigh Paterson, "Flowers" Category Winner

Cape Town, South Africa native Amy-Leigh snapped a shot of the national flower after fires ravaged the city in March and was inspired by their resilience and adaptation. 

9. Faisal Alateeqi, "Landscape" Category 2nd Place Winner

The Kuwait City native captured this award-winning landscape shot on a trip to New Zealand. 

10. Fabio Alvarez, "Lifestyle" Category Winner

Fabio aimed to capture the Brazilian love for soccer in this photograph. 

11. Yvonne Naughton, "Nature" Category Winner

Yvonne's photo was captured on a morning walk with her dogs on the beaches of Washington state. 

12. John Huet, "News/Events" Category 2nd Place Winner

John began shooting athletic competitions 25 years ago and has enjoyed portraying the passion, pride, and commitment they convey. 

13. Jose Luis Suez Martinez, "Others" Category Winner

Jose Luis is a converted iPhone photographer who incorporates the unique architecture and lighting of his home in Valencia, Spain into his work. 

14. Kaihua Li, "Panorama" Category 2nd Place Winner

Kaihua captured this amazing shot while vacationing in Arizona and Utah, "The meandering San Juan River and 1000-feet deep canyon was just breathtaking" he explained. 

15. Brendan O See, "People" Category 3rd Place Winner

Brendan is a native Irish photographer and professor who attempts to create in unusual ways, resulting in striking examples like this photograph. 

16. Daniele Colombera, "Portrait" Category Winner

Daniele captured this shot behind the scenes at a high-fashion photo shoot and chose a black and white treatment to focus on his subject's "ethereal expression without being distracted by the vivid colors of nature surrounding her." 

17. Heather Goss, "Seasons" Category Winner

Heather captured this icy scene during a Michigan winter with 12 feet of snow. 

18. Cindy Buske, "Still Life" Category Winner

Cindy is a nurse who balances her structured medical career with the creativity of photography. 

19. Robert Radesic, "Sunset" Category Winner

Robert is an art director who captured this glowing sunset while traveling in Italy.
