Triton the lion lives at the Johannesburg zoo. When he's not laying around doing lion stuff, he enjoys "kicking" a ball around.

This is Triton. He's the resident male white lion at the Johannesburg zoo.

He's about 11 years old.

Life in the zoo can get a little dull for one of nature's most majestic predators, so it's important to keep Triton entertained.

Triton was bred in captivity. Lions are currently listed as "vulnerable" by the World Wildlife Fund, which is one step away from endangered.

So conservation efforts are crucial, and it's important to keep these big cats happy and healthy!
