Like many Syrian refugees have done in recent months, Aslan, 17, traveled the 300 miles to Greece. But unlike many, he carried his dog with him. The entire way.
When asked in an interview with the UN Refugee Agency why he brought his Husky, Rose, on the journey instead of more luggage, Aslan simply replied "I love my dog."
Some non pet owners may not understand, in a critical situation like the one Syrian refugees are facing, why one would make the choice Aslan did, but pet owners know, the value of a beloved pet far exceeds the importance of any material possession.
