How to speak Aussie: abbrevo everything.
Since being created by Aussies Josh Hawkins and his mate Rhys, their video "How to Speak Aussie" has blown up, getting thousands of shares and over 3 million views.
In it, the two go through a lengthy series of words and terms, providing the Australian "translation" for each.
While some are a little quirky, speaking Aussie centers around one simple thing: abbreviation.
Hawkins told BuzzFeed that he wanted to emphasize how Australian slang shows how Aussies are both creative and lazy when it comes to language.
“Basically cut any word in half and add an O, A, or E and you’re speaking Aussie (Australian) so this vid (video) is as many abbreviations as we could think of. But at the end of the day, we just wanted to make Shazza proud.â€
But some are more lazy then creative, if they're being honest.
