Located in Shanghai, in a lively area called the "French Concession," is a quaint, yet contemporary little sandwich bar named The Press. Designed by architect, Albert Caiola, the joint has a modern, minimalistic feel to it. And while it's certainly very visually appealing, there's not much to remark on. Other than a bright neon sign, the thing that stands out the most in the room is a retro coke machine sitting conspicuously in the corner, and it's not just decorative...

Behind the James Bond-like secret entryway is the real place of meeting, "The Flask:" a prohibition-inspired, classically themed "speakeasy"
The decorations and furnishings were designed and chosen to imitate different elements of the classiest speakeasies of the prohibition, when any drinking had to be done entirely in secret. Hence, the clandestine coke machine entrance
There are various decorative whiskey flasks tastefully scattered throughout the venue, another commonplace staple of old speakeasies, and inspiration for the bars' name
