Freedom Tattoos is designed to offer some help to former inmates trying to fit into the world once again.

Instead of leaving them with a painful reminder of their past, this project helps them replace that reminder into something beautiful.

Prison tattoos are not only a reminder of a painful time, they're also often done in a pretty rough manner, using whatever's lying around a prison.

They're not an emblem you want for the rest of your life, and this project makes it so they don't have to be.

Instead, these new tattoos, these "freedom tattoos," are an emblem for the future.

They represent beauty and hope instead of pain and regret.
